Don't you just love it.......

My eldest is in the process of completing her final year at school and I must say is doing me but more importantly herself proud! The pressure placed on these young people never ceases to amaze me. She has been informed by her elders at school what she can expect for her OP score (for those not "in the know" OP stands for overall position...in my day it was called TE score which from memory stood for tertiary entrance.....) however I have digressed....she is truly doing me proud.

I was recently watching a show with my girls on Foxtel featuring very young children mainly girls, being entered into beauty pageants. The three of us came to the conclusion that these little beauties were simply fulfilling their parent's dreams (mainly mum we decided) of wanting to be recognised as youngsters themselves but such a dream was not achieved, hence their children are fulfilling their dreams. I have since come to the conclusion that in a not-so-obvious way, my daughter is fulfilling the same in me. Yes, indeed she is gorgeous as is her younger sister, so I don't need to do the beauty pageant torture thing....she is simply displaying the hard work and determination that her mother should have displayed at the same age. I guess it came down to laziness on my part and when I see the determination in her I can do nothing but be in awe of her achievements. Proud, absolutely but more importantly I have an incredible respect for her determination and achievements.....don't you just love it. Sure do!
